No matter how much you enjoyed 2017, starting 2018 is going to be exciting. It’s an opportunity to start off on a clean slate and a good foot forward. For us, there’s no better way to kick it off than at SnowGlobe. How often do you live in a mountain town with a massive music festival that rivals Lollapalooza AND it’s in the winter? Almost never!

What is SnowGlobe?

For those that don’t visit South Lake Tahoe over New Year’s, SnowGlobe is considered California’s biggest New Year’s Eve event. It really is! In its 7th year, this three-day event is hosted in our hometown on the seasonally-dormant Community Playfields near the Lake Tahoe Community College campus. The show leans toward electronic music artists but they also make sure there’s a few acts from other genres to spice things up.

Why we like SnowGlobe

We’re HUGE fans of E.D.M. – Electronic Dance Music that is! As they begin to release the lineup for the show, we start creating a playlist on Spotify of all the musicians. It’s a chance for us to hear some favorites but also expand our horizons on what’s happening in the scene. But better than all that… it gives South Lake Tahoe another platform to showcase our region not just to skiers and snowboarders, but also adventuresome souls.

We’ve met amazing SnowGlobers over the years at our cafe. All types of folks in fact from the health-conscious and environmentally-minded to music lovers and outdoorsy-types, what they have in common is an carefree spirit and adventurous pallets! Even if you aren’t going to the show, we hope you stop by Blue Angel Café and Catering so you can have your own adventure exploring our global menu and enjoying some of our favorites like the Lamb Tostadas and the Roasted Veggie Napoleon.

But, most of all… Happy New Year!
